Male football coach No. 16 Dan Stratford and senior striker Marcus Caldeira spoke to the media after a 4-0 victory against the University of the Hall on Monday at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Caldeira scored her 30th and 31st career goals for WVU in the match, including an eighth minute goal to open a score.
Caldeira said it was “incredible”.
“I was on my 29th birthday[th goal]So I knew that coming to this game, “said Caldeira.” If I was scoring one, I knew that the celebration of three zero was going to come out. “”
Stratford said that Caldeira “has fun”.
“Marcus just seems to have fun,” said Stratford. … “He kept relatively simple things.”.
WVU scored two goals on the shots on Monday. Stratford said it was something that the team focused on the game.
“The sets were an accent area according to Manhattan [University] game, “said Stratford.” We have actually talked a lot about the success of Arsenal in the Premier League [on set pieces]. “”
Stratford appreciated the performance and thinks that the team has improved their match against Manhattan.
“It was a few small details that we had to clean. The only time they failed was just when we were a little too excited or tried something a little beyond what was necessary in the moment. … The details of the place where the game was played, space and attention for space control were much better than what we saw on Thursday,” said Stratford.
WVU male football goes to the first stadium in Akron, Ohio, to face the University of Akron Zips at 7 p.m. Friday, August 29. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN +.
