Buck Showalter knows the short shelf life for MLB managers. He thinks that diamondbacks should continue to stand behind Torey Lovullo.
Phoenix – Buck Showalter took the worst diamondbacks to the first of its second year as a manager in 1999.
His reward: he was unemployed after the following season.
To make the bite worse, Arizona won the World Series the season after that.
Showalter is a key figure in the history of diamondbacks. He was their first manager and helped Arizona overcome obstacles to be an expansion team.
In his second year at the helm, the Diamondbacks won 100 games and won the NL West.
Time flies clearly when you have fun.

Showalter said Lovullo should reverse this outside noise.
“This is the nature of the beast. You stay outside of all social media. You just have to keep in mind that many people really don’t know what they are talking about. If you put them in there and ask them to make the decisions Torey has every night, it would be ugly to watch,” he said.
These are words of wisdom of someone who was around the baseball block.
Showalter will always be the first in Arizona.
He hopes that the team will not go to the next.
“It is good to see someone last so long because you will not do much better,” he said.
