Bronny James is currently blowing up the NBA social media landscape after catching an alley-oop pass from Austin Reaves at 1:21 in the first quarter Sunday night against the Miami Heat.

After a forced turnover by Jake LaRavia, a three-on-one Los Angeles counterattack allowed Reaves to toss the basketball into the air, leaving none other than James to catch it and put it through the net. The play instantly went viral, with fans flooding social media to praise the rookie’s athleticism and composure under the bright lights. Even several NBA players weighed in on
James’ dunk would not only bring the crowd inside Crypto.com Arena to its feet, but would draw similar comparisons to his father, LeBron James, as athletic talent clearly runs in the family’s genes. Except for one key differentiator: LeBron is 6’9″ while Bronny is 6’2″.

Bronny has struggled for minutes throughout the season and is getting his opportunity as Los Angeles continues to battle injuries. Although his minutes aren’t what fans would like from the ongoing young prodigy, Bronny uses every moment of his playing time to impress head coach JJ Redick.
The dunk is by far the most impressive feat James has accomplished so far, reaching an impressive height on the hardwood while hitting the ball with aggression. Los Angeles currently leads Miami heading into the second half and could feature more highlights from Bronny.
