Broncos promote TE Marcedes Lewis to active roster, elevate ILB Jordan Turner for Week 14 game against Raiders

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos added a tight end to their active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

Denver has promoted tight end Marcedes Lewis from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Saturday.

The Broncos waived linebacker Garret Wallow in a corresponding move.

Denver also elevated inside linebacker Jordan Turner from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s divisional game.

The Broncos initially signed Lewis to their practice squad in late October, and he appeared in Denver’s next three games. The 2006 first-round pick became the oldest player to ever appear in a game for the Broncos, playing 20 percent of Denver’s offensive snaps in those games.

After the Broncos elevated Lewis for those three games, the team needed to promote him to their active roster so he could play again.

Lewis’ promotion comes after the team ruled out Nate Adkins on Friday for the Week 14 game.

Turner, an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State, has already been brought up for two games this season and has played 59 percent of Denver’s special teams snaps in those matchups.

The Broncos will aim to extend their winning streak to 10 games on Sunday against the Raiders.
