Dimitri van den Bergh excludes full -time return to darts – “It’s not good for my family” | Darts News

Dimitri Van den Bergh has excluded returning to Darts full -time, declaring “it is not good for my family”.

The 30-year-old, who took an indefinite break in the darts in April to focus on his health and well-being after having retired a championship event for a few minutes before he played Jose de Sousa, returned to sport on Thursday during the Darts World Cup for Belgium.

Van Den Bergh is twinned alongside Mike de Decker during the event in Frankfurt, where Belgium began its campaign with a victory in the 4-1 track phase against Latvia.

Addressing the media thereafter, Van Den Bergh confirmed that he would not make a complete return to sport.

“It is I who step back to manage my career, because a full-time professional is simply not good for my family,” he said.

“I have a second child to come next month, so me and my manager and my sponsors, we already know what will happen.

“It will be professional in a different level, but I’m ready for that.”

In the previous campaigns of the World Cup of darts, Van Den Bergh was part of a large -scale quarrel with compatriot Kim Huybrechts.

In 2023, the pair started the tournament that did not speak, giving rise to each other during the matches before repairing things to reach the semi-finals while showing a total change in behavior, pumping and hugs.

Before the 2024 tournament, Van Den Bergh confirmed that a problem still existed between the pair.

Asked about Huybrechts Thursday, Van Den Bergh closed the subject and rather chose to focus on the “difference” in competition with Decker.

“About Kim, I’m just going to finish these kinds of things with I have no comments on this subject. Everything that everyone knows, leave it there. It’s their choice.
