Atlanta’s dream did not have enough gas in the tank to overcome Caitlin Clark and Indiana fever in their pre-season match on Saturday. The dream fought well, but they finally failed, losing the match, 81-76.
Atlanta may have had a better blow to eliminate Clark and Co. had not been nine times All-Star Brittney Griner leaving the match after only two minutes. The good news is that Griner has not suffered an injury, and the dream just decided to give the 34 -year -old veteran a little rest.

Griner had to watch the rest of the match from the sidelines. On Sunday, she went to Instagram to share her reaction to a revealing detail of the competition which involved one of her teammates.
In the clip below, the dream recruit Te-Hina Paopao is seen by applauding for the fever star Aliyah Boston while the latter launched. Griner had to react.
“It’s so funny lol,” wrote Griner, marking Paopao in the post.
For the context, Paopao and Boston share the same Alma Mater. The two players adapted to the Gamecocks of South Carolina before becoming a pro. However, they did not have the opportunity to be teammates, Paopao arriving just after the fever selected Boston as the first choice of the WNBA 2023.

It seems that Paopao may have inadvertently applauded his colleague Gamecock during the match. The recruit caught up quickly, that Griner thought “funny”.

It was Clark who led to the victory on Saturday with 13 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while Indiana went 3-0 in pre-season. Griner and the dream, on the other hand, went 1-1 after winning a victory against the mystics of Washington on Tuesday 80-70.
The fever and the dream leave there on May 20 in their first game of the regular WNBA season.
