British accused of having organized Disneyland Mock Wedding with Child is accused of fraud offenses in France | France

A British sex offender accused of organizing a simulated marriage with a child in Disneyland Paris was accused of money laundering and fraud in France.

Jacky Jhaj, 39, who in 2016 was found guilty of sexual activities with two 15-year-olds, was arrested this weekend in Disneyland Paris after the theme park was hired for a private wedding. The staff would have called the police when they saw that the “bride” in a wedding dress was a nine -year -old girl.

Jhaj, who said prosecutors played the groom in simulated marriage, was charged by a Meaux judge of inquiry with offenses such as money laundering and identity theft. The nine -year -old girl, Ukrainian, was not injured, said the police.

Jhaj was identified as the man arrested by the BBC, who has already published investigations on him. French police and prosecutors did not appoint it, although prosecutors said that the accused man had a criminal record in the United Kingdom for sexual assault offenses.

Jhaj is accused of organizing a bizarre wedding ceremony which included an orchestra, a giant cake and a backdrop of a Disney castle. He had organized for more than 100 paid extras to be bus from Paris. They thought they played the role of guests in a real wedding scenario.

The French court also opened an investigation into the alleged corruption of a minor, designating the man as an “assisted witness” – a step before being charged.

Disneyland Paris is the most visited theme park in Europe and can be hired for weddings outside opening hours at a very high price, with its sleeping beauty castle as a backdrop. The event was to take place between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Saturday for a price of around € 130,000 (£ 111,000).

The prosecutor of the French state in Meaux, Jean-Baptiste Bladier, said that the British man had played “the role of the groom after being professionally offset to display a completely different face from his”.

Bladier said that French judicial authorities have been informed by British police that the man “had been sentenced in the past, especially for sexual offenses against minors”.

London metropolitan police said that a 39 -year -old man was wanted for breaking a prevention prevention order and a violation of a requirement for notification of sex offenders. In a statement, the force said: “We know that the man was arrested in France for other questions and that the officers are in contact with the French authorities.”

PA Media reported that the man was on supervision after being found guilty of sexual activity with two 15 -year -old girls in 2016.

The French prosecutor said that the surveys had shown that Disneyland’s “marriage” was in fact “a fictitious ceremony intended to be filmed in private”.

The prosecutor’s office appointed a 24 -year -old Latvian woman, who played the role of the bride’s sister during the event, as a witness assisted in the investigation.

The British man is suspected of “recruiting, with the help of a Latvian citizen, other lattons nationals to ensure the proper functioning of the event, as well as 100 French extras, who were falsely presented to Disneyland Paris as a wedding guest,” said the prosecutor.

The Ukrainian child, who arrived in France two days before the event, underwent “no violence, physical or sexual” and “was not forced to play the role” of the bride, said the prosecutor this weekend.

According to the prosecutor, Disneyland Paris was deceived, “the organizer pretending to be a Latvian national and using false documents to obtain the contract to hire the park”.

Disneyland Paris filed a legal complaint.
