- Brest have the slightly superior head-to-head record in this match in recent years, having won three of their last six meetings with Auxerre. It should be noted, however, that they have not beaten Auxerre since May 2023.
- These two teams suffered a defeat in the Coupe de France in their last match. However, it’s fair to say that the Brest defeat was probably worse. Auxerre were eliminated by top-flight Ligue 1 side Monaco, while Brest lost on penalties to fourth division side US Avranches.

- Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko has been involved in four goals in his last three Ligue 1 matches. Unfortunately, his club will be without him for this match, as he is currently away for the AFCON with Mali, leaving questions as to the origin of Auxerre’s goals.

In terms of form, this match is quite balanced, especially considering Brest’s surprise defeat in the Coupe de France against lower-ranked opponents.
However, Brest have been fairly reliable at home this season, while Auxerre have the worst away record in Ligue 1 and are yet to win away.
Add to that the fact that Auxerre will be without top scorer Lassine Sinayoko and it feels like a home win is the outcome here.
