Brentford vs Liverpool live: full Premier League line-ups

Liverpool would move a point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal if Arne Slot’s side win at home to Bretnford on Saturday.

The Reds have lost their last three matches in the top flight after a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United last Sunday, but won 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Brentford are unbeaten in their four home games in all competitions in 2025/26 and a second win of the week following the Bees’ 2-0 victory at West Ham on Monday could propel Keith Andrews’ side into the top 10.

Brentford vs Liverpool line-ups

Brentford are without Aaron Hickey due to a short-term injury the Scotland full-back suffered on international duty.

Midfielder Paris Maghoma and striker Gustavo Nunes returned in a second-string match on Tuesday, but Antoni Milambo is out with a long-term knee injury.

Josh Dasilva hopes to return to training next month after a series of long-term knee injuries and has signed a new contract until the end of the season with an optional extra year this week, while his compatriot Jordan Henderson played for Liverpool between 2011 and 2023.

“[Playing against Liverpool is] It’s definitely something I’m really looking forward to,” said the England international, who won every major domestic trophy and the 2018/19 Champions League final at least once during his time at Anfield, in Brentford’s program.

“[Former manager] Jürgen [Klopp] had the biggest influence on me as a player. It depended on his intensity and what he constantly demanded of me.

“He was like that with a lot of us – there were maybe only one or two that made it through. But that’s why we had so much success under his leadership.”

Brentford starting eleven: Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Ajer; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago.

Brentford substitutes: Valdimarsson, Henry, Pinnock, Jensen, Nelson, Carvalho, Onyeka, Lewis-Potter, Janelt.

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker and full-back Jérémie Frimpong are out for Liverpool with hamstring injuries, as is centre-back Giovanni Leoni, who has a serious knee injury.

Manager Arne Slot said midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) and striker Alexander Isak (groin) were doubtful and neither was included in the squad.

Long-serving Liverpool understudy Caoimhín Kelleher left the club after Slot’s first season in charge of Brentford in June.

“He [was in reserve] for so many years that he felt it was time for him to start playing,” Slot said. “He showed that he was right because he was doing very well.

“And even though I haven’t worked with him, we’re also going to play Jordan Henderson. [Slot’s native] Hollande, they can’t stop talking about how much Ajax [who Henderson played for last season] missing [him]so that tells you how important he was to Ajax and… how important he is now to Brentford.

Liverpool starting XI: Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Jones; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike.

Liverpool substitutes: Woodman, Gomez, Endo, MacAllister, Chiesa, Robertson, Nyoni, Morrison, Ngumoha.
