Managers in northern Germany are dismayed after the store owner publishes an anti -Semitic panel

The leaders of northern Germany are dismayed after a store owner has published an anti -Semitic sign prohibiting the Jewish people in a store.

The sign of the Flensburg store said: “The Jews are prohibited to enter here !!!!” In German, according to a joint declaration by the Minister of Culture Dorit Stenke and Gerhard Ulrich, the anti-Semitism Commissioner of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.

“A sign that denies the Jews Access to a store is a scary signal and an attack on the principles of our free coexistence,” said Stenke in the press release. “We cannot allow such things to continue in our society and must take decisive measures against it. Anti -Semitism is a threat to our democracy and should not be tolerated in any form.”

Ulrich filed a criminal complaint for “hate incitement” against the store owner, according to the press release. Officials have not identified the business owner or the type of business.

“The speech of anti-Semitic hatred like this not only harms the affected people, but also disturbs public peace. The incident of Flensburg, with his contemptuous rhetoric, fatally recalls the discourse of Nazi hatred against the Jews.”

Anti-Semitism has increased in Schleswig-Holstein, the most northern state of Germany, according to officials. In 2024, the region experienced a 390% increase in anti -Semitic incidents.

“We have to stand together against each form of anti -Semitism,” said Ulrich. “The fight against anti -Semitism is a particular responsibility that we support as Germany.”

Stenke said that “a state of action against anti -Semitism” will be adopted next year. The manager did not explain what the plan will imply.
