Braves, red uniforms unveiled for MLB Speedway Classic

The Braves of Atlanta and Cincinnati Reds will compete in Bristol Motor Speedway in style on August 2 for the MLB Speedway Classic.

MLB unveiled the special uniforms for each team on Monday. The sons of Atlanta and Cincinnati are largely unchanged, apart from the details that pay homage to unique place and play.

The jersey numbers include daring contours, observation and movement intended to represent the conceptions of NASCAR vehicles. Reds – who are the designated home team – have white figures instead of their usual red. The brave will remain with their traditional red color for the figures.

Personalized numbers are supplemented by ceilings and helmets with more heads to motorsport designs. The Atlanta cap includes red flames on the top of the visor, while the Cincinnati cap has plaid racing flags through the visor.

In a first for MLB, helmets produced by Rawlings will receive personalized conceptions for a special league event. At first glance, the inspiration is clear – the design of the Nascar helmet. The look includes more checkered heads and rack player numbers and “Word-Marques inspired by speed”.

The round of each uniform has a classic speedway patch to commemorate the game.

The MLB Speedway Classic – held in Bristol, Tennessee, in “The Last Great Colosseum” – will mark the first MLB game played in the state.
