Tyler Locklear and Alek Thomas dominated, Brandon Pfaadt equaled a career summit with his 11th victory, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Diego Padres 6-2 in Phoenix on Monday.
Corbin Carroll and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. succeeded two strokes and two points produced while the Diamondbacks extended their sequence of victories with three games after a sequence of six consecutive defeats which precipitated their delay of commerce.
Locklear, obtained from Seattle in the Eugenio Suarez deadline, hit its first circuit in its fourth match in Arizona. Thomas dominated the ninth and had his fourth multi-coup match.
Jackson Merrill and Jake Cronenworth made two of the six strokes of the Padres and the two points produced.
The paadres had won seven of the eight.
PFAADT (11-7) granted two points and five strokes in 5 2/3 rounds, leaving after the simple of Cronenworth was 5-2 in sixth. He withdrew four and won three in his second victory over the Padres this season. He was 11-10 years old last year.
Luis Arraez was 0 for 3 with a walk, putting an end to his Hit sequence of 16 career matches. He removed him against Pfaadt in the fifth.
Kyle Backhus launched two rounds for his first career stop.
JP Sears (7-10) granted five points out of 10 strokes in five rounds during his first departure for the Padres after being obtained on the deadline. He withdrew four and walked one.
The Diamondbacks marked in each of the first four rounds of Sears and led 5-1 after five.
Gurriel followed in simple Ketel Marte and Carroll with a single RBI in the first, and the fly of the sacrifice of Carroll in the second did 2-0.
Merrill and Machado have wired two doubles with two withdrawals in the third, the first will release Pfaadt, to do it 2-1.
The Locklear circuit with a withdrawal in the third was measured at 393 feet for a 3-1 advance. His two previous Homers came in his 16 game look with the Mariners last June.
Carroll and Gurriel rolled in the fourth races to do it 5-1.
