Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie to star in Ocean prequel film

After landing Twists director Lee Isaac Chung to direct, Warner Bros is now set to sign another high-profile talent to star alongside Margot Robbie in its The Ocean prequel. Although no deal is finalized, Bradley Cooper is in negotiations to play in the the prequel Chung directs and Robbie plays the lead role. Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, is producing.
Sources say Cooper has been close to Robbie over the years and always wanted to work together, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. After a meeting with Chung, Cooper was on board.
Filming of the film is expected to begin next year and in real The ocean fashion, the plot is locked in the vault, except that it is a prequel. The current screenplay is by Carrie Solomon and based on characters created by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell.
Cooper has close ties to the studio where his current production deal is made. He also has his Bullitt film in development at Warner Bros. that Steven Spielberg will direct with him starring.
Next up for Cooper is his comedy-drama Searchlight Is this thing on? which he directs and in which he stars. The film is set to make its world premiere Friday at the New York Film Festival.
