England “does not know” if Lauren James will be in good shape for their Women’s final of Euro 2025 against Spain on Sunday after the Chelsea striker was withdrawn at halftime in their victory in the semi-final against Italy with an ankle injury.
The quadruple female champion of the Super League James began the five games of England in Switzerland and “does things” on the training field but “still in recovery,” said coach Sarina Wiegman.
“We have two more days, so we will give him time,” added Wiegman. “We don’t know yet [if she’ll be ready]But that’s what we’re going to go – 23 players available. “”
