Daredevil fans have a lot to hope for. Not only season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again” is currently in production and should be released on Disney + next year, but it also seems that Marvel Studios is not interested in leaving Matt Murdock by Charlie Cox Leaving the Marvel cinematographic universe of so early. This is because the show has already been renewed for a season 3, long before the premiere of season 2.
Speaking with IGN, Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television and animation in Marvel Studios, revealed that season 3 of “Born Again” received the green light. Winderbaum promoted the release of the next animated series “Marvel Zombies”, but he had time to offer this little treat welcome for man fans without fear. Here is what he had to say about this:
“In terms of” Daredevil “, yes, we are Green-Bloved for season 3, and we are starting to shoot next year.”
So there we have it. Obviously, the details will be held firmly under the Wraps at this stage, because season 2 has not even been broadcast yet. What we know with certainty is that the final of season 1 of “Born Again” has led to exploring in season 2 and beyond. There is also no shortage of stories to tell on the side of the level of rue du McU, while Cox seems very attached to his character, just like Vincent d’Onofrio (who plays Kingpin).
The two actors spent years lobbying for a renewal after “Daredevil” was canceled in Netflix after three seasons. Dardardevil season 4 and 5 “had been planned in Netflix, but they never materialized. All these years later, however, Marvel Studios chose to bring the gang” Daredevil “and, according to all accounts, brass is satisfied with the results.

Check here was not easy. Marvel initially planned a first season of the show after announcing it to San Diego Comic-Con in 2022. However, in October 2023, it was revealed that “Born Again” crossed a major creative renovation, with new writers and directors brought on board to reorganize the series. Be careful, the show had already shot for months at that time, which means it was an expensive and complicated decision taken at the highest level.
Despite this, this decision proved to be valid because the reception in season 1 was largely positive. What is interesting, however, is that “Daredevil: Born Again” did not seem to be a major success for Disney + in the notations department, with “Agatha all along”, which earns more viewers in 2024. This show does not get a second season. Meanwhile, “Born Again” will take place for at least three seasons. These decisions do not always make sense, on paper, but the streaming era is strewn with confusing decisions, because each streamer has a complicated equation to determine whether a series deserves or not.
The big question is whether Daredevil, or one of these characters, will be more significantly in the greatest MCU, because they will be there for a while. Cox was not part of the casting announcement of huge “Avengers: Doomsday”. Maybe he’s going to pass like a surprise? Maybe Marvel saves him for “Avengers: Secret Wars” in 2027? Or maybe he’s just going to Hell’s Kitchen. At the very least, he does not take leave in the foreseeable future. The kitchen needs cleaning, so to speak.
