Bode Shows Shocking Restraint as Zabel Ridge Arsonist Revealed

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Fire Country Season 4, Episode 8.Three Rock is finally back Land of Fire — but not how we or Eve (Jules Latimer) I imagined it. No one is more excited about the creation of Three Rock than Manny (Kevin Alexandro), however, and this leads to its own problems in the penultimate episode before the winter finale. What this week’s episode proves is that we’re gearing up for fireworks (perhaps literally) in the final episode of 2025. There’s getting Three Rock’s new recruits into shape, and Bode (Max Thiériot) has a lead on who started the Zabel Ridge Fire that can’t be ignored. He’s actually going to get kudos for how he handles this reveal, proving that there’s always time for a little holiday miracle.

Did I mention that Manny is very stressed about the upcoming fire season? Land of Fire wants you to know that Manny is really stressed about the upcoming fire season. Eve’s plan for reopening Three Rock was to get her original team back, or at least another group of adult inmates. That would still take several weeks, if not months, according to Sacramento, and that’s time Manny doesn’t have if they want to save all of Northern California from the fire. He pushes Eve to accept a team of minor inmatesand the high school maturity is evident from the moment they step off the bus and enter camp. The boys fight. They cannot communicate or follow simple instructions. There’s a lot of groundwork to do before you can trust them to start a fire.

It’s obvious to everyone except Manny. He moves up in rank and calls Eve’s new team to cut the wire to the episode’s major forest fire. He expects these neon green recruits to cut a half-mile of line at a breakneck pace, but they’ve never done it before. They are not following proper safety protocols. They fight, and not only do they not clear the field, but they cut a pipe in the fight. Manny pushes them and Eve so hard that she breaks down and screams, “Those aren’t my guys.” » which is the exact opposite of what the kids needed to hear to help them come together as a team.

So Eve will start the winter finale further back than when she started with this crew and brought them together. She has to prove they can trust her before she can start working with them, and it’s an uphill battle after what she said at the scene. At least Manny is back in his corner after admitting that they didn’t communicate well that day (I am (looking aside the fact that he didn’t apologize for explaining to her how to do her job). They must lead by example, so that there can be some hope for these children after all.

Tyler and his mother bring new revelations to Station 42

The band Three Rock isn’t the only one causing teenage dysfunction. Land of Fire. Bode completely took Tyler (Connor Sherry) under his wing when we join them in this episode. It turns out that Tyler’s mother is Bode’s former high school math teacherChloe (Alona Tal). She now teaches at the high school where Station 42 demonstrates drunk driving. Tyler is chosen to be one of the children who dies in the fake incident, causing Bode to tell his mother that Tyler “didn’t make it.” It’s wrong and designed to scare children into making more responsible decisions, but it really affects Chloe. She is more determined than ever to find Tyler help and understand why he is behaving badly.

Bode is the first to volunteer. He’s already asked Tyler to do random stuff around the station because he sees a lot of his younger self in the troubled teen. Chloe is very grateful for the help, especially when the protest goes so far as to plan a fake funeral for Tyler to which her classmates are invited. This even happens to Sharon (Diane Farr), who is overcome with grief for Riley and Vince after seeing Chloe praise her son. Chloe gives a great speech, but when Landon (Sean McDermitt) intervenes to say that he also loves Tyler, the teenager explodes with anger. It seems we’ve found his trigger, but why is Landon bothering him so much?

‘Fire Country’ Finally Reveals Three Rock’s Replacement Team in New Footage

Meet the new team before the next episode of “Fire Country” arrives on CBS this Friday.

You won’t have to wait long to find out! Bode takes Chloe home after she hangs out at the station to formally ask for his help with Tyler (which he already does…but whatever, we needed an excuse for them to arrive home together). They hear an angry Landon yelling at Tyler when they arrive at the door. Bode wastes no time knocking him down and finds Landon facing Tyler, about to punch the teen. Bode throws Landon against the wall, but Chloe says she can handle it. She starts ripping into Landon while Bode takes Tyler outside to cool off. And that’s when Tyler drops the bombshell that Landon may be the one responsible for the Zabel Ridge fire.

Oh, so there’s a grown man bullying Bode’s protégé, at least emotionally threatening his former classmate, And maybe he started the fire that killed Vince? Honestly, I really wouldn’t have blamed Bode if he got angry about it. However, he impressed me. He calls Sharon and tells her what happened, and informs her of Tyler’s advice. He asks her to contact the investigation team. He called for backup before he did anything rash! He transmits the information to the competent authorities! This is GROWTH. Hopefully it sticks. I’m really proud of Bode, wow.

This maturity has come at just the right time. Before the Landon incident, Bode had completed his checklist and Luke (Michael Trucco) signed it. This officially makes Bode a full-fledged Cal Fire firefighter. He has more to lose than ever, and it’s such a relief to see him take action and protect what he’s worked so hard to achieve. Go Bode!

Jake innovates with his family

Jake is still figuring out the best way to interact with his new extended family. He doesn’t listen to the warning to stay away from the family. Malcolm blocked him, so he has no choice but to deal with the stepsister again, who still has no interest in helping Jake while Malcolm doesn’t want to talk to him either. But Jake doesn’t give up. Vince’s loss is still very fresh, and since all three of them are firefighters, he knows that any call could end their chances of connecting. So he leaves a letter for the stepsister and promises to stop pushing. He’ll wait until she and Malcolm are ready to talk and try to have a relationship. Let’s see if it goes better than Jake’s horrible voicemail.

This episode had some key revelations for Eve, Bode, and Jake, but it’s clear that this was the vehicle for the build-up to the chaos that’s going to be unleashed in the winter finale. We better buckle up for what’s to come.

THE Land of Fire The winter finale airs Friday, December 19 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. The episodes are available the next day on Paramount+, and the series will return in 2026.
