Bob Mackie I loved watching Taylor Swift making the whole place sparkle.
The legendary designer, known for his eye-catching suits and outfits, was thrilled that the “Opalite” singer donned one of his bejeweled looks for the album. pouch for The life of a showgirl.
“I was a little shocked myself,” Mackie told E! News during a viewing of her upcoming collection with Julien’s Auctions, “because I thought Taylor Swift was this little girl who wrote songs about fairytale princesses.”
But much to the 85-year-old’s surprise, “There she is. She looks like a showgirl.”
Mackie— whose famous fashions will be exhibited December 3 when Julien’s auctions hosts an exclusive viewing of Bold Luxury: Bob Mackie, Stage Glamor & The Couture Edit—was delighted to see Swift’s album designs cover from it showed him a side of her he wasn’t used to.
“She’s amazing and a lot bigger than I thought and older than I thought,” he laughed. “I thought she was still 14 or something. That’s not true!”
