Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander was removed from the lineup during Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Seattle Mariners on Monday due to back soreness.

Davis Schneider was scheduled to replace Santander in left field and bat eighth as the Blue Jays look to rebound from a 3-1 loss in Game 1 on Sunday. Santander was seventh in the original roster order. When Santander was scratched, second baseman Ernie Clement moved up one spot from the No. 8 hole.

Santander, 30, hit .175 with six homers and 18 RBIs in 54 games while limited by a left shoulder injury during the regular season. In four postseason games, he is 3-for-13 (.231) with two RBIs.

Schneider, 26, hit .234 with 11 homers and 31 RBIs in 82 regular-season games, and is 2-for-7 (.286) with two walks in three postseason games.
