Blue Jays 2-1 Cubs game recap (August 14, 2025)

Toronto – – Vladimir Guerrero Jr. struck a two -round circuit in seventh round, helping Max Scherzer and the Blue Jays of Toronto beat the Cubs of Chicago 2-1 Thursday.

Guerrero’s great success to Matthew Boyd raised Toronto at the head of Al East to the victory of the series. It was the 20th circuit of the season to the stars slugger.

Boyd walked Davis Schneider to start the seventh. Ernie Clement followed with a sacrifice before Guerrero borders a 0-2 402 feet in the center left.

The Cubs had only one stroke of scherzer before Michael Busch was in depth with one in the sixth for his 24th circuit.

Promoted from Triple-A Iowa before the match, Cubs Owen Caissie prospect made his major league debut at around 30 miles east of his birthplace in Burlington, Ontario. He went 0 for 4 with a stick withdrawn.
