Blue Bloods Spinoff Boston Blue Sells Worldwide

EXCLUSIVE: Detectives Danny Regan and Lena Silver will play the blues around the world after being purchased by a string of international buyers. Boston Blue. The show had its world premiere in Cannes at the MIPCOM market last week. Following the international launch, it was sold in over 100 markets, Deadline can reveal.
Donnie Wahlberg reprises his role as Regan in the Blue blood branching. Her character moves from New York to Boston in the series and Sonequa Martin-Green is her new partner, Lena Silver. The show launched on CBS in the United States on October 17, and episodes air on Paramount+ the day after their linear broadcast.
The list of international buyers participating in the show includes AXN Asia and Coupang Play in Korea. M-Net acquired it for Africa and Sky for New Zealand. In Europe, Boston Blue has landed at pay TV giant Sky in German-speaking territories. It is also aimed at Play Media in Belgium, Cosmote TV in Greece, Síminn in Iceland and beIN in Cyprus and Turkey. Elsewhere, it will be on CTV and in Australia on Paramount+.
Internationally, the procedural format enjoys enduring appeal, so hopes were high for Boston Blueespecially like his ancestor, Blue bloodhad established a strong fan base globally. However, quickly reaching 100 territories is among the highest expectations. The show is being sold by Paramount Global Content Distribution, which has the international deals.
Wahlberg is executive producer of the series. In Cannes, he raised the possibility of a Blue blood–Boston Blue franchise. CBS certainly has form here, with NCIS and other procedures generating numerous fallout. International sales are critical to financing these shows and making them profitable, and that responsibility falls to Lisa Kramer’s PGCD division.
