Birmingham City tried to sign an “incredible” Celtic player at the 11th hour

The hopes of Birmingham City to sign an attacker of a huge club fell at the end of the summer transfer window.
Last Friday, the Blues were beaten 2-0 in Leicester City, undergoing their first defeat of the season in the championship, after a good start to the season.
The manager of Birmingham, Chris Davies, was a frustrated figure after the match, not having hidden his disappointment in the face of the performance that his team produced.
“I was really disappointed to lose this match. I think we conceded a bad goal to start the match, which is different from us, but we recovered very well. Obviously, they increased from the other end in the last moments and obtained a goal of the very little they had around our box.
“The players are very disappointed because they felt that they deserved much more than they got out of this game. What we saw is that we have the ball in good areas, but we have to make them defend a little better. No more cross, no more action in the box.”
In terms of transactions of the day, the boss wanted two new wide players, with the winger of Sunderland, Patrick Roberts, sealing a late move to St Andrew’s.
But the other target of the blues dropped during the final obstacle.
Birmingham suffers late with Celtic U Tour
Write on XJournalist Raman Bhardwaj reported that Birmingham had failed to sign the Celtic striker Hyun-Jun Yang at the eleventh hour on the day of the deadline, just before the window stops.
Not to sign Yang was an undeniable blow for the blues, who know that they need as much quality as possible in their efforts to ensure consecutive promotions and return to the Premier League.
The South Korean could have turned out to be an excellent addition for Birmingham, with his Celtic teammate Arne Engels speaking positively from him in the past.
“It was simply incredible. I’m really happy for him. Yang is always training 100%. A really incredible performance on his part.”
However, Davies should be positive about the hopes of Birmingham to impress this season, after making important summer additions, from Kyogo Furuhashi to Marvin Ducksch.
