Bill Maher had various opinions on President Donald Trump in recent months, but the “real time” on Friday, he recognized that with the indictment of the former director of the FBI, James Comey, the country “exceeded the dissident phase of Museau” and in the “Pursuing political enemy space” during the rise of America.
“James Comey, our former FBI director, was charged today by the Trump administration,” started Maher. “I didn’t even know he had a talk show.”
“Trump is in his own, we caught the phase of the light of justice to you,” continued the HBO host. “They will find something to stop you. But he tried to become a currency. “
Comey was charged by a great federal jury in Virginia on Thursday on a charm for having made a false statement and on an accusation of justice. The two accusations were linked to his testimony in September 2020 to the Senate judicial committee. The former FBI director is the first senior government official, who investigated Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 for possible links with Russia, to cope with federal accusations.
Maher then mentioned the appointment by Trump of Lindsey Halligan, one of his personal lawyers, to manage the indictment. She was appointed after the president explained an American lawyer whom he put in office in eastern Virginia.
“She is a 36 -year -old insurance lawyer,” joked Maher. “Her personal lawyer, never pursued anyone, and now she goes after the former director of the FBI. If it was an episode of” Boston Legal “, you would say that this program had jumped the shark.”
He continued: “I mentioned that she is a former candidate for beauty contests. Oh yes, for the part of the talents, she kissed her ass. So, if you follow the rise of the autocracy, we have exceeded the meal phase of muzzle, and that we are in the political enemy space to continue. I think that Trump could be in the uniform generals at Christmas.”
The HBO host led that it was a good idea to consult basic civic school lessons because normally the presidents are not supposed to comment on the investigations in progress, and even less tweet about them. Trump had celebrated the news of Comey’s indictment on social verification, exclaiming “Justice in America!” And said the former FBI director was “one of the worst human beings to which this country has ever been exposed”.
“Worse?” Asked Maher. “Worse? Like a private island with sex with children, worse? ”
At the end of his monologue, Maher spoke of the great religious history of the week which was a viral trend of Tiktok on the supposed kidnapping. Christian Evangelicals on Tiktok, who thought that the kidnapping should occur on September 23 and 24, spent days preparing for what had become known as #Apturetok.
“Nuts on Tiktok said that Jesus had told him that the kidnapping was going to arrive on Tuesday, or maybe it was Wednesday,” said Maher. “And then, of course, Jesus collapsed. Jesus, you know, he knows that each time a sparrow falls, but his own schedule is a mess. The people who really disappeared this week were guys before Home Depot, and many of them were named Jesus.”
