Bethpage Black: Lesson guide hole by hole for the Ryder Cup 2025 | Ryder Cup 2025

1st: 397 yards, by 4
The quantity of this hole that players will see or remember is open to the question. Ryder Cup’s nerves tend to trigger blurred sensations on the 1st tee. This area was slightly shortened by necessity; namely the installation of a huge platform. There is a dog leg on the right from a high t-shirt. Any trip to the right will have a approach blocked by the trees. Those who cut the corner with the drivers will have only one film for their approach, towards a green well protected by the bunkers. The installation surface is the smallest of Black Bethpage, with a steep slope punishing any shot left.
2nd: 389 yards, by 4
Another hole that starts from a raised position and another that turns, although this time on the left. It is also, like the 1st, a rarity of Bethpage in terms of being a short per four. The key here is to hit the fairway, which means it is unlikely that the players hit the pilots of the TEE. There is a large bunker to the right of the green and a smaller short and on the left. The raised green, which is 74 feet back and forth, falls suddenly on the left side.
3rd: 210 yards, by 3
The first short hole and a hard. This is generally evaluated among the most difficult games in golf. Bunkers – and deep – protect a green which is visually delicate due to its narrow appearance of the tee. The perception of the opening blow is that green is next to it. All strokes of a long strike will be punished by a steep slope behind the died surface. The three represent a good score here, regardless of the Ryder Cup format.
4th: 517 yards, by 5
One of the most picturesque holes is relatively short for a per-fever and can be reached in half if the players are correct from the TEE. The ideal reader is transported on bunkers who keep the left of the hole and in a fairway that bows to the left before a second set of sand traps on the opposite side. Bunkers are in sight around a raised green, which players may not be able to see when they hit their second. The inclination is about 40 feet. Unlike the 3rd, players will seek to better equalize this hole, which is generally the easiest of the course.
5th: 478 yards, by 4
The starting blows that are missing the fairway on the left cause significant problems. The right is protected by the sand, although longer strikers will be able to steal this problem and have a decent line of this area. Green is quite tight – and another which is high – with a trio of bunkers at hand to collect all bulk shots. The players say that this surface is more undulating and complex than most in this place. It is a hole that defines Bethpage Black; One by four long and difficult.
6th: 408 yards, by 4
A real element of risk and reward. Bunkers on each side of the fairway can lead players to force a driver beyond the sand and at the bottom of a sharp hill. From there, it is a short approach of a fairly flat green. Those who decide to lie down with the TEE shot could face almost 200 meters with their second, in a green that has sand all around. The decision -making and the level of precision of the TEE determine what will take place here.
7th: 524 yards, by 4
It plays like one by five for simple mortals. For the Ryder Cup, it is one per four very strong and one of the longest in the world. A disc is ideally placed below the bunker which is on the left of the fairway just when the hole turns right. From there, it can always be a 200 -meter approach photo towards a putting surface which has short bunkers on the left and right. Green is at least long, at almost 90 feet, which gives these long iron shots more likely to hang on.
8th: 210 yards, by 3
It plays much shorter than the footage suggests, due to the high T-shirt. A t-shirt or short or short will cause huge problems, with a pond in the front of green. A spindle position before teasing the players on time with this danger. Several flag locations are possible on a putte surface which extends almost 140 feet in length.
9th: 460 yards, by 4
The nine fronts end with another with four with a dog leg, this time on the left. The players are prevented from trying to hug the left side of what is a slope fairway too closely by a large bunker. The fairway, however, is wide and generally among the easiest to strike. It is one of the fairly simple green vegetables. Key in the players’ mind is to avoid criminal bunkers who will grasp everything that short left or right of this putting surface.
10th: 502 yards, by 4
The bunkers extend a large part of the two sides of this fairway. Where there is no sand, there is rough fetuque, but not as thick and problematic as what has been observed for individual events here. Hitting the fairway therefore becomes the key to happiness on this hole. It is the one who caused a great controversy to the 2002 United States Open after a wind switch left the players with 260 meters in a strong breeze just to reach the short grass. Green falls suddenly to catch any flying approach for a long and left.
11th: 435 yards, by 4
Players must trust their swing and the goal point of a T-shirt where they will not see the part of the fairway to go. The best line is on the right, but everything that is pushed too far in this way – or on the left will fire – will find sand. Green is largely considered to be the most difficult on the course; It includes a false front that will embarrass anyone who survives a putt or a chip at the back of the putting surface. The 10th, 11th and 12th are three per four arduous successively and offer a key section.
12th: 496 yards, by 4
A hole that provides an intimidating starting kick. The bunkers keeping the left side must be transported to the rate of 270 meters to set up a simple approach to this hole, which turns strongly on the left. All journeys hit too firmly on what the sand will lack fairway. From this left bunker, it will take an excellent blow to reach and maintain what is corrugated green. During the 2019 American PGA championship, it was the second highest hole to equalize in Bethpage.
13th: 608 yards, by 5
After such a test stretch, it is a relatively simple hole that offers slight relief. Rory McILroy and Co will be disappointed if the green is not found in two. The key to the t-shirt avoids bunkers to the left and trees on the opposite side. With the second shots, the sand is also the element to avoid, this time 30 meters from the green and immediately at the front right, the latter being among the deepest on the route. Green slopes from back to the front.
14th: 161 yards, by 3
The blow of tee is quite simple, on a foliage and a bunker that will draw everything that is played short and straight. Do not be deceived by this as the shortest hole in the course. The delicate part arrives on a green that tilted not only from the back to the front but also from left to right. At points, the put surface is 115 feet deep and 120 feet wide. Territory with three strokes and many.
15th: 477 yards, by 4
Back to this familiar feeling of a raised green, up to 50 feet, protected by such deep bunkers that you feel that you could get lost. Green is also two levels. The consensus is that the damage or compliance with this putting surface is very impossible if the fairway is not found from the tee. The hole leans slightly to the left. Unusually for Bethpage Black, there are no bunkers in play for the opening blow. He plays regularly like the hardest hole.
16th: 539 yards, by 4
At this point, matches are decided. There is a drop of 50 feet of the tee on a fairway which is slightly from right to left. Players will be able to see green when they stand above this disc. Like the 15th, sand is not a problem of the tee. Green, however, sand is a very real danger with the bunkers on the left and, in particular, on the right, delivering high penalties. A test not too delicate, but two straight shots are required under increasing pressure.
17th: 179 yards, by 3
A hole that looks wonderful from the tee. Like the 1st, the entire length of individual events cannot be reproduced here due to the erection of a platform. Green is more than 40 meters wide, but far from being so deep, leaving the players with the perception that they have little margin of error. Five bunkers are waiting to catch iron shots that go wrong, with the only potential “good miss” long and on the left. Green is slightly uphill. Its right side is clearly below the left.
18th: 411 yards, by 4
How many matches will come to this point? Those who do it will meet an opportunity. On a course that offers little respite, the 18th is a fairly soft challenge. It is also a hole that has experienced a wave of variations over the years. The TEE shooting is played downhill, with players who choose to use their pilot having very little with their second shots. The bunkers will catch a little right stroke or a pulled and longer on the left. The most difficult part of this hole is a sloping green. Having approaches to the front section, therefore leaving putts uphill will be the popular option.
