“The hand that rocks the cradle” is swinging once again.
A 1992 thriller’s remake went to Hulu on October 22, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Maika Monroe taking over for the roles originally played by Annabella Sciorra and Rebecca de Mornay.

Mexican filmmaker Michelle Garza Bénéra – including the first horror feature film, “Huessera: The Bone Woman”, splashes at the Tribeca Festival in 2022 after winning both the best new narrative director and Nora Ephron Awards – led this new iteration of the famous thriller. Cervera has remained clearly in its wheelhouse.
For those who do not know it, the original film caused a sensation after tackling fairly thorny themes, including revenge, psychological manipulation and confidence. The film told the story of a avenging nanny who sought to destroy his employer and steal his family in the process.
This film was particularly shocking for 1992, in particular since its publication by a Disney subsidiary, Buena Vista Pictures Distribution.
However, the daring concept did not dissuade the moviegoers because it made a huge 140 million dollars at the box office with a budget of only $ 11.9 million. In fact, the big turning point was largely propelled by word of mouth.
