Bernadette Wilson, republican candidate for the governor of Alaska – Redstate

Here in Alaska, we will eliminate a new governor next year, in the general elections of 2026. Although there has not yet been a date announced for a primary election, we have already announced several republican candidates, notably Lieutenant-Governor Nancy Dahlstrom, the former state senator Click Bishop, and Matanuska-Susitna Borough Mayor Anchorage Business and Political Actistist Bernadette Wilages, which was crapped by the State, aimed through the villages.

On Wednesday, I sat on a virtual conversation with Ms. Wilson to discuss her political positions and her goals for Alaska, if she was elected. You can look at the complete conversation and not published here:

Here are some high points of the interview:

Ward Clark: The first (problem) is, and you briefly approached this Alaska being essentially the US Treasury trunk. Nowhere is (more) true than in the energy wallet. What do you think in the best way, as a governor, you could work with Washington so that the energy development of Alaska advances?

Bernadette Wilson: My God, you know, Ward, there is so much. The first thing is that when you look at energy projects, resources and development here in Alaska, we have talked a lot about the roads of this campaign. My very strong conviction is that the government must help build roads. This is one of the jobs they have to make is to build these roads in these different mining districts and these different oil wells, where we have the possibility of developing. We have anwr. We have NPRA. We have all kinds of opportunities here. You could choose two or three and the country would be very good. But we really have to work with Washington to rationalize the regulation process.

Alaska had more sanctions under the Biden administration than the country of Iran. You stop and think about it for a minute, it is how much they tried to lock us up. It’s time for Alaska to intensify and say: “You know what, we are not going to let you locate ourselves. We are going to go ahead with these projects and work with Washington on this subject.” But I will say this, push back a little too. We are very lucky here at the moment. We have a friendly administration. We have an administration that recognizes the opportunity that Alaska can offer to the rest of the country.

But even under an administration, it is time for Alaska to repel and say “You know what, we are going to go anyway. We will ask for forgiveness later, and we will work to push the development as much as possible.”

These are key points; As I have often said and written, we cannot speak of the American energy industry, which feeds our modern technological lifestyle, not to mention Alaska. Nor can we talk about geopolitics and military questions, not to mention Alaska, and Ms. Wilson also has reflections on this subject.

WC: In the 1930s, I mean that it was in 1934, General Billy Mitchell said that Alaska was the most strategic real estate on the planet. We still have a strong military presence here in Alaska, in fact, we have a new airborne division which has been noted in recent years. What do you think of the position of Alaska in the Pacific, in particular towards the east towards Russia and China? We are sort of in a unique place with these two nations.

BW: We are, we are in a very unique place, and you cannot deny that the strategic placement of Alaska on the map is as important today as ever. When you look at the tensions that come from countries like Russia, China, I mean calling your list where we could have potential to come. I mean, you look at all the coastlines that Alaska has, more coastline than any other state of the country, and of course that we are 2 1/2 times larger than any other state of the country. But it is incredibly important, I think it is incredibly important, that we strengthen the military presence in Alaska, I think it has been expected for a long time, so we must have a solid conversation on this subject because it is vital for the security of the rest of the country.

By all means, look at everything, in which we discuss many other questions, including education, classified choice vote, the delegation of the Alaska congress, and more.

Rendering Alaska Grand again: a new candidate for the governor of Grand Land has unique qualifications.

Alaska is a state like no other, and our policy reflects this. We have more coastline than all 48 lower states combined. We are the only state apart from Hawaii which does not share any land border with another state, although we shared a border with the territory of Yukon in Canada. Our large land is a house in the treasure of energy and mineral resources, but recent administrations have stifled all attempts to exploit these resources. On the other side of the Bering Strait is Russia, and south of this is China, two large nations which are not particularly friendly with the United States. Alaska is held in a caliphon on the American / Asian shipping lanes and the Great Circle air route of our west coast in Asia.

Next year, Alaska will choose a new governor. In 2026, this election may well have much more in -depth implications than most, not only in Alaska, but also in the rest of the country.
