Ben Shelton shares his honest thoughts on Jiri Lehecka and his team before their Open Cincinnati match

Ben Shelton is preparing for what will be a difficult match in the fourth round at the Cincinnati Open.

The American is on a sequence of victories of eight games after his race for the title of Open of Canada less than a week ago.

The 22 -year -old is back on the ground at home and in his pursuit of a second successive title, he has not yet abandoned a set in Ohio so far.

Ben Shelton’s next opponent is the dangerous Jiri Lehecka, who is more than capable of causing an upheaval. Shelton is the best classified American left in the draw of cincinnati.

Shelton beat the veteran Roberto Bautista agut to reach the last 16 at the Cincinnati Open, while Lehecka beat Adam Walton in two sets of equality.

Before what will be his second meeting with the Czech player, Shelton told Tennis Channel what he thought of Lehecka and his team.

“These are living conditions here,” said Shelton. “This court standing court is quite fast and it is a large server. It is difficult. I expect prolonged sets and yes, let’s see what we can do.

“I can’t wait to be there, a great player, obviously, a big guy. I really like his team and yes, I am excited for every opportunity that I have to play here at the moment.”

Who won the first meeting of Ben Shelton and Jiri Lehecka?

The only previous meeting in Shelton and Lehecka came to the Stuttgart Open in June.

Shelton triumphed 6-4, 6-4 on the lawn terrains in Germany, which earned him a place in the semi-finals of the ATP 250 event.

“We did not have many rallies in this match in Stuttgart,” said Shelton, thinking about his first match against Lehecka. “I thought we both had very well served. It was just a few points here and there. ”

He struck 18 AS on the way to victory and served exceptionally well, winning all his first points of service and 92% of the points in his second.

Shelton will aim to produce a similar service performance against Lehecka in Cincinnati, which will be important against the world’s number 26.
