Walton Goggins’ ‘Fallout’ Hit Rises in Streaming Now That Season 2 Is Less Than a Month Away

There’s less than a month left until Prime Video brings To fall fans are returning to the desert for season 2 of its successful video game adaptation. Ahead of the trip to New Vegas in the heart of the Mojave, subscribers are now rushing to catch up on the first season that set the world on fire and helped propel Walton Glasses became a superstar after years of hard work on the small screen. The series rises to ninth place in the platform’s global television rankings, just behind The law of the heart And Lazarus by Harlan Cobenwhich premiered last month. However, in the United States alone, it ranks even higher, at third, with only The mighty Nein And Hotel in Hazbin ahead of him.

Released last April, To fall Season 1 introduced Goggins to the world of the Bethesda and Interplay Entertainment game franchise as The Ghoul, a irradiated, noseless and ruthless bounty hunter who has lived in the wasteland for over 200 years after the bombs were dropped. Once known as Hollywood star Cooper Howard, he has become a cynical killer just trying to survive and, naturally, he becomes involved in the hunt for Siggi Wilzig (Michael Emerson) to claim the bounty on his head. His journey puts him on a collision course with the other major players in the desert, including naive vault dweller Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), who is searching for his kidnapped father, and the hapless aspiring Brotherhood of Steel knight Maximus (Aaron Moten). Everyone has their reasons for wanting Wilzig and the technology he carries, taking them all on a violent and crazy journey across the desert that ultimately brings them all to the same place: the Griffith Observatory.

Graham Wagner And Geneva Robertson-Dworet led the series to massive success, becoming only the second Prime Video show to cross the 100 million viewer mark and pairing that with a 93% Certified Fresh score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. It has since been hailed as one of the best video game adaptations to date, with a supporting cast that also stars Kyle MacLachlan, Moises AriasAnd Xélia Mendes-Jonesall of which would also return in Season 2. The success carried over to the games as well, enticing more viewers to discover the titles that inspired the series and leading to crossovers that brought the Ghoul into the MMORPG. Fallout 76 and the three survivors in the mobile game Fallout shelter. This year’s iteration of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights also recreated some of the most iconic moments and settings for fans to explore in real life in a special crossover attraction.

‘Fallout’ Season 2 will make more use of post-apocalyptic games

Part of To fall‘s success came from telling an original story within the world of the series and connecting it to the events of the games. Season 2 will go even further, incorporating more elements of the famous Fallout: New Vegas as Lucy and the Ghoul head to the post-war colony. After learning the truth about the identity of her father Hank (MacLachlan) and his involvement in the end of the world, Lucy forms a tentative alliance with the Ghoul to pursue him after their confrontation at the observatory. The former Vault dweller seeks justice, while the bounty hunter searches for answers about his family, leading them down a dangerous path filled with new factions, like Caesar’s Legion, mutated beasts, like the Deathclaws, and the leader of New Vegas himself, Robert House (Justin Theroux), whom Cooper encountered in his pre-war life. With so many different forces clashing in New Vegas, a war is looming on the horizon in which both men are about to be caught in the middle.

To fall Season 1 is now streaming on Prime Video. Season 2 premieres on December 17 and will release new episodes every week. Stay tuned here on Collider for more on the biggest streaming hits throughout the year.
