This occurs after the BCCI and the CSA were involved in the discussions. According to the initial agreement with BCCI, the South African players had to return home after the IPL 2025 final, which was to take place on May 25. However, due to tensions between India and Pakistan, the tournament was postponed for a week and should now resume on May 17.

There were many reports that said BCCI would speak with CSA to allow players to play at least in the playoffs. Even the director of CSA national teams and Enoch Nkwe, who said for the first time, who wanted the players to return on May 26, said they could play the playoffs because they had delayed their preparations.
