Batman’s director Matt Reeves casts doubt on a third DC film with Robert Pattinson

“The Batman” by Matt Reeves, with a black flavor, gave us a complex and ambitious vision of the Caped Crusader, triggering the hope of a competent suite in the near future. Calling “The Batman Part II” is eagerly awaited, because waiting until 2027 – at that time that follow -up should finally be released – already feels marked by anxious excitement. The exact details of the story remain rare, and Reeves (with Warner Bros.) has taken extreme precautions to keep the scenario under the Wraps, with the lead Robert Pattinson only to access the script with a code. These measures are justified, because nothing is heavier than facing a disclosed script centered on a beloved superhero character who is constantly subject to public expectations and standards.

With “Part II” being a certainty, it is natural to raise questions about a third potential film and if Pattinson and Reeves will return for the film. According to the interview with Reeves with Josh Horowitz, the director is not too sure of a third film “Batman”, even if his original plan was to explore the arch of the titular character during three films:

“The first story concerns the Batman so much, and therefore I always wanted in the films to make sure that, let’s say, we can do three, and I have no idea [if we will get to make ‘The Batman 3’]; But if we can do three, I always wanted the films to focus on his character. “”

Now that does not completely spread the hopes of the third film, as Reeves and Co. might not be sure if “Batman Part III” will be officially informed (a decision based on a plethora of practical factors, including “The Batman Part II”). We must also consider the fact that Reeves could hesitate to reveal too much for the moment, in order to keep ignorance about how his new film will end and if it justifies a sequel. “The Batman” ended with a note of undeniably fragile but tender hope, but she kept the door open for a more nuanced and animated exploration of the myth of Batman in the long -awaited “part II”. That “part II” does the same or will end things on a conclusive note is something that only time will say.

In “The Batman”, Caped Crusader of Pattinson has just started to drive his hood, and the main emotion on which he focuses on the pipe is the rage fueled by revenge. The streets of Gotham are still as dangerously chaotic, but Batman’s silhouette evokes fear, because it is perceived as a threat of blood which does not hesitate to beat the wicked into a pulp. This version of Batman fights dirty, but he is far from being a hardened vigilante devoid of sentimentality – if anything, he feels too much, his repressed contempt for the mixture of corruption with boredom erased.

But Bruce / Batman undergoes a change by the end of the film, because he understands the power to be a symbol of hope instead of fear. “Part II” could explore this transformation, mapping a change in his vigilantism, which will probably be reflected in the way he fights and takes care of the crises in Gotham head -on.

Although “The Penguin” has put certain moving events, we now know that the boss of the crime Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) will not threaten to upset the status quo in “The Batman Part II”, at least not on the screen. Fortunately, there are many other DC comic strips for the continuation of the suite, any one could armed the psychological change of Batman to increase the issues or introduce new rules to the game. However, while we are waiting to learn who the Caped Crusader and Gotham will continue this time, the insistence of Reeves on the centering of the Psyche de Batman is an intriguing factor to consider.

Perhaps the “Part II” will further explore the legendary instincts of the crime of the crime and / or how his character of Bruce Wayne evolves in front of a city of Gotham who desperately needed hope. Ideally, these thematic sons will also be substantial sufficiently in the following to justify a “part III”, the reeves and pattinson being enthusiastic enough to see things until the end.
