Bari Weiss’ response to Clooney’s attack

Since taking the helm of CBS News, Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss has shown no fear, and her response to Hollywood left-wing darling George Clooney’s attack on her is truly…Magnificent.

It all started after the 64-year-old actor attacked Weiss’ leadership, of course, using general statements, devoid of any details, about Weiss. The comments came after she published a 60 Minutes article about the alleged treatment of illegal aliens in a CECOT prison in El Salvador.

She later explained that the reason was because it wasn’t ready, RedState reported.

“My job is to make sure that every story we publish is the best it can be. Publishing stories that aren’t ready for whatever reason – whether they lack context, for example, or are missing critical voices – happens every day in every newsroom,” Weiss’ statement read. “I look forward to releasing this important piece when it is ready.”

In a recent interview with Variety, Clooney claimed that Weiss was “dismantling CBS” amid his broader criticism of the network’s deal with President Donald Trump over his misleading 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.

Weiss responded to Clooney’s attack in a statement to the New York Post, inviting him to come to her workplace for a tour to learn more about the news business. Ouch.

“Hello, Mr. Clooney! Big fan of your work,” read Weiss’ statement shared by CBS parent company Skydance. “Looks like you’d like to know more about ours.”

“This is an open invitation to visit the CBS Broadcast Center, where I am spending the holidays working on the relaunch of the Evening News with my colleagues,” the statement added. “Give yourself January 5th. »

In the Variety article, Clooney also blasted the networks that settled their lawsuits, claiming that CBS did so so that Trump would “approve the sale of Paramount to Skydance” without any evidence. The deal closed in August, with Paramount’s new owner, Skydance Media, led by David Ellison, bringing in Weiss.

“If CBS and ABC had challenged these lawsuits and said, ‘Come on, [..] yourself, we wouldn’t be where we are in the country,” Clooney said. “That’s just the truth.”

Weiss’ trolling of the Ocean’s Eleven star, who recently officially became a French citizen, was layered given Clooney’s recent Broadway role as legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow.

This is exactly how we crush the lies and accusations of the left, in broad daylight. Well done.
