Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal near the New Deal until 2031 – Sources

Lamimine Yamal is about to extend her Barcelona contract until 2031 after a positive meeting between club president Joan Laporta and the player’s agent Jorge Mendes, on Monday, said sources in ESPN.

The current 17 -year -old agreement is expected to expire in 2026, but the club has been working to renew and improve its conditions for months now.

Mendes met Yamal in Barcelona last week and returned to the city on Monday to eliminate the last details of the agreement with the club.

The final keys must still be applied, but sources close to the club and the player both said that the meeting had gone well and that a consensus was close.

Yamal, who will be 18 years old on July 13, said publicly on several occasions that his desire is to stay at Barça, where he had already made more than 100 appearances in the first team.

The Spanish winger signed his current contract in 2023, but at the time, as he was under the age of 18, he was authorized to sign a three -year agreement.

Laporta said Yamal will receive a “special treatment” and that her new conditions will not only extend her stay with the Champions of Laliga, but will give him a large bran in accordance with his status in the team of coach Hansi Flick.

Sources have explained that in addition to the increase in Yamal wages, the new contract will also include a series of individual incentives and bonuses which will allow it to earn more.

It is a contract model which has always been favored by LAPORTA – both in its first fate as president, between 2003 and 2010, and since it was re -elected in 2021.

Among these bonuses, there will be one to win the Ballon d’Or, Yamal already considered among the candidates to win the most coveted football prize.

In 55 appearances this season, he scored 18 goals and recorded 25 assists, while offering exceptional performances in some of the biggest matches in Barça, including the semi-final of the Champions League against Inter Milan and the Definition of Laliga Classic Against Real Madrid.

Its displays helped Barça to win a domestic triplet – Laliga, Copa del Rey and the Spanish supercopa – during the first season of Flick in charge.

Yamal joined Barça for the first time at the age of seven and quickly progressed in the Academy, making his debut at the age of 15 under the previous coach Xavi Hernández.
