Lock, shelter control on site, lifted on the Maine College campus

A situation at the Southern Maine Community College in South Portland is over. The campus was in locking Tuesday morning for about 15 minutes due to what campus officials called a situation of law. Campus officials said the locking was over and people could move around the campus again. It comes one day after a bomb threat sent by email forced the evacuation and closure of two buildings at the Colby College of Waterville.

The campus was in locking Tuesday morning for about 15 minutes due to what campus officials called a situation of law.
The school made this announcement just after 9:15 am and asked people to avoid the area.
Anyone on the campus was invited to lock its doors and its shelter in place until further notice.
The police were on the scene and a witness told the Maine total coverage that she had seen a Swat team.
After about 15 minutes, campus officials said the locking was over and people could move around the campus again.
