Barcelona advancing with a move for Marcus Rashford by Manchester United

Barcelona advances with a move to sign Marcus Rashford by Manchester United.
Barcelona made an offer via intermediaries to lend Rashford next season and the proposal includes an option to buy.
The 27 -year -old wants this decision and the idea was accepted by United and although it is not yet an agreement concluded, the talks between all the parties are now at the final stages.
Barcelona sought an attacker who can operate in large areas and in front, which makes Rashford an attractive option. The left was considered a priority for the club after having estimated that they were short of options in this position towards the end of last season.
Head coach Hansi Flick spoke to the English international and approved his arrival.
Taking Rashford in an initial temporary base would also help Barcelona while they continue to sail in a difficult financial situation.
Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan from United in the winter window for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign and scored four goals in 17 appearances for the Unai Emery team.
His season has been reduced by an ischio-whipped injury folded in April. He missed the last four games in the campaign and was excluded from the last England team of Thomas Tuchel for the next games against Andorra and Senegal.
Rashford is one of the best employees in United with more than £ 325,000 per week, including Villa covered three -quarters – in addition to the performance bonuses – for the duration of its loan agreement.
Athletics reported in January that the 27 -year -old favored a move to Barcelona, the Décard sports director keeping an eye on the attacker. Athletics reported on June 3 that the brother and agent of Rashford, Dwaine Maynard, was in the Catalan city for talks.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick said this summer that he hoped to add large attackers to his team with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha currently in the first choice in the Barca 4-3-3 system.
The club agreed personal terms with Nico Williams before the Spanish international rather chose to stay at the Athletic club and to sign a new contract until 2035 while Liverpool overturned an approach to Luis Diaz last month and insisted for the 28 -year -old, who also interests Bayern Munich, is not for sale.
When asked to sign a new winger in summer in May, Flick said: “This is what we talked about with the club. In the last games, we may not have many options in this position … So we have to bring more options to the team and more quality. It is Deco’s work, is clear, and I will support it. ”
On Diaz and Rashford in particular, Flick added: “I don’t want to talk about players who are not in my team, but of course, Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford are fantastic players. I love them and we will see what’s going on.”
Rashford has not presented for United since the Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen on December 12, after being excluded from the team by Ruben Amorim for the Premier League match against Manchester City on December 15.
In an interview later in December, Rashford said he was “ready for a new challenge” far from United.
United has never publicly closed the door to the reintegration of Rashford, although it was one of the five players taking an additional time to explore a move from the club. Despite this, Rashford reported in Carrington on July 8 and worked on an individual basis, not participating in team training with the rest of the Ruben Amorim team
The United Academy product made 426 appearances for the club and scored 138 goals since its inception in 2015.
