Paglino and Grossi founded Magnia2000 – a company that creates personalized Barbie dolls, one of which sold $ 15,000 during a charity auction in 2015 – in 1999, according to the website.
Barbie shared a tribute on Instagram after the news from the tragedy emerged online, writing: “The Barbie team is broken by the loss of Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two precious creators and Mattel collaborators who brought joy and art to Barbie’s world as Magnia2000.”

“Beyond their remarkable talent, they shared an energy that illuminated each space they entered,” continued the post, which included a photo of the pair posing under a Barbie panel.
According to the Magnia2000 website, the company “created the Italian doll Convention, the biggest event of Fashion Dolls in Europe, promoting passion for Barbie and all fashion dolls” in 2011.
