Chicago Blackhawks acquires the 29th overall choice, Select Mason West

According to Sportsnet’s ElliLotte Friedman, the Carolina Hurricanes Have traded the 29th Overall Pick of the 2025 Nhl Draft to the Chicago Blackhawks for the 34th and 62nd Overall Picks, Plus A Fifth-Round Pick in 2027. have selected Mason West USHL Fargo Force.
West, who will join the Spartans of the NCAA Michigan State University in the fall of 2026-27, is an intriguing perspective for several reasons. He is an imposing attacker, considering his talent, standing at 6’6 ″, 218 pounds. Although he finished the year with Ushl Fargo, he spent much of the year with Edina High School in Minnesota, scoring 27 goals and 49 points in 31 games.
Once he went to Fargo towards the end of the year, he scored a goal and nine points in 10 games. The most fascinating part of West is that he has never been a full -time hockey player. Throughout her stay with Edina, West has doubled as a leading secondary quarter of the secondary school and could receive D1 scholarships if her senior season this fall is going well.
Due to its unmountable chances to one day crack a list of the NFL, West had to fall in the second round, between the 45th and 55th choice in total. The Blackhawks see the potential in the West and believe that he will continue his professional hockey career.
