“Everyone who wants to be professional writer should have to write a little fandom,” she noted. “I couldn’t do this job without what I learned there. He taught us to make criticism and positive comments, and to know what to take and what to leave. And it showed me how to write – we always use a lot of these tools now in the way we build chapters and stories. ”

During their time as writing partners, Christina and Lauren wrote more than 30 books, including bestsellers like Love and other words,, The Maloneurs And more recently The problem of paradise.

And with each new project has brought an evolution in its collaboration process.

“At the beginning, we wanted everything to be like a super 50/50 division – each unique task that she did halfway, I did half,” admitted Lauren. “It was simply not realistic. It didn’t really work that way. And I think we have learned over time that we really have to rely on our strengths. ”

As she said, “once we have somehow understood that she was a good storyteller, and I like to write nouins, I really had the impression that she met.”

That said, some traditions did not hesitate. For example, “we always describe together in person,” noted Lauren, “because there is a little magic that occurs when we are in the room together.”

From there, they start to build their story, exchanging drafts until they have their finished copy, a calendar which for them is ideally about four months.
