ATP Basel Day 2 Predictions Including Wawrinka vs. Kecmanovic

The first round continues on the second day of the ATP Swiss Indoors Basel. We will see Stan Wawrinka in action on Monday. The Swiss star has yet to indicate that he is ending his career, but fans should know that their opportunities to see him are limited. The stadium should be loud for his match. But who do you think will win? We also predict the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article.
ATP Basel Day 2 Predictions
Reilly Opelka vs. Sebastian Baez
Opelka doesn’t quite seem able to recapture his old magic as he attempts to come back from injury. The service is still huge, but it’s a little less unbreakable. And the solid base game doesn’t support it like it used to. Here again, Sebastian Baez hasn’t been quite the same since he appeared on stage. I’ll pick the American because of his serve, but it could really go either way. Expect tie-breaks.
Prediction: Opelka in 2
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard vs. João Fonseca
This match could well be the future of tennis. Both players appear to have encountered obstacles this year, but they each have incredible talent and should compete for Grand Slams and Masters for years to come. At the moment, Mpetshi Perricard is in a bit of trouble, and I think Fonseca will take advantage of the context to move on.
Prediction: Fonseca in 3

Stan Wawrinka vs. Miomir Kecmanovic
I have no idea what Wawrinka left in his tank. I know he loves this tournament and won’t want to disappoint his fans. He may not be able to compete in tournaments anymore, but he can win a match in front of an adoring crowd. It also helps that Kecmanovic loses his cool at times – something this crowd will love to see.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 2
