Mets trade infielder/flyer Jeff McNeil to Athletics. The Mets will receive the right-hander Jordan Rodriguez in return. New York is also sending $5.75 million to cover part of McNeil’s $15.75 million 2026 salary and will cover the $2 million buyout of McNeil’s $15.75 million club option for 2027 if the A’s don’t accept him. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported the details of the trade. The A’s have a full 40-man roster and will need to make a corresponding move to make that official.
