Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be “definitively” dismissed if he does not win the title of the Premier League this season, according to the Legend of the Gunners, Robert Pires.

The Frenchman made his rather daring claim because he feels that Artata now has a lot of support to bring the players he wants, with major silverware always eluding him.

Arsenal has signed big names like Ebelechi Eze, Viktor Gyokerres and Martin Zubimenddi this summer, while strengthening their team with solid additions such as Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincie and Christian Norgaard.

Arteta got closer a few times now at Arsenal to glory, so it could be the last chance that he can show that he is the man to help this team make this last step?

Worse knows one thing or two about winning titles with Arsenal, and he thinks that the board of directors would finally decide to make a change if Arteta could not exceed the line this season.

Addressing Foot Mercato, he said: “In my opinion, if Arsenal does not win a trophy this year, management will plan to find another coach.

“He has been there for five years and unfortunately, the title has escaped him. What is important for fans is the championship.

“The money was spent in the summer transfer window. He made certain requests, which were satisfied by the board of directors of Arsenal.

“If Arsenal does not win the championship, I think there will certainly be a change on the bench.

“It will not be easy because you have Liverpool, you have Man City who are there, Chelsea will not be far behind it. But I think Arsenal holds the cards and has the players to win the title.”

Arsenal won an impressive late victory in Newcastle United in their last match, while Liverpool lost against Crystal Palace.

This has committed the gap at the top, but can the Arteta team catch up with the reign champions of Arne Slot? Let us know your title race predictions in the comments!
