Addressing El Desmarque, the president of Sociedad, Jokin Aperribay, has now spoken out with regard to the information according to which Zubimenddi is about to join Arsenal.

“We told Martin to go calmly to the national team, to think about it, and we would like to stay,” said Aperribay.

Given the large number of reliable media sources which have reiterated that Zubimenddi seems ready to become an arsenal player, this declaration by the head of the Sociedad suggests that the team of Mikel Arteta could still have work to do.
Zubimenddi agreed to join Liverpool last summer before changing his mind at the last minute, so the Gunners’ supporters will certainly keep this in mind before celebrating his capture.
Arteta will pray for its signature to materialize, given the radiant reputation of ZubiMendi and the need of Arsenal to replace the Jorginho linked to the exit.
