Thunderbolts * Director Jake Schreier reveals if Marvel considered the monstrous form of the void (exclusive)

The news that Thunderbolts * I would present the vision of the MCU on the sentry was greeted by the excitement of fans, but also a certain apprehension. How was Marvel Studios going to adapt one of his most controlled, complex and often confounding characters?

We recently sat with the Thunderbolts * The director, Jake Schreier, and asked the filmmaker if he had already planned to adapt one of the most monstrous forms of horror in the void of comics.

While what we saw in the film was quite obsessive – the villain takes a shadow form – there are examples on the page where the void is more like an HR giger paint. It turns out that such a design has been taken into account.

“Yeah, we experienced everything with everything. It was a process of exploring what it should look like. I think Kevin [Feige] We had really pushed on this path of: “Can we do something photographic?” Is there a non-CG way to do so? “I think that in our film, some of the most monstrous representations of the void … We explored some of them, where we would make red eyes. And then suddenly, it seemed that we had to swing so far in this end in terms of colony and care for this person, or to save them from this place, that it was always that we want it to be that And save Bob from this space.

In the video above, Jake also talks about the emotional scene where the Thunderbolts rally around Bob in the void, drawing it from darkness, and the work that made the creation of the sequence where the Sentinel waste the heroes of the film.
