Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta explained that the reaction of Noni Madueke to the criticism of him made him even more determined to sign him for the artillerymen.
Madueke joined Arsenal of Chelsea rivals this summer, in what was initially a fairly unpopular decision among most gooners.
Although the English international showed some quality moments during his stay at Stamford Bridge, he was quite incoherent and there were probably not too many supporters of the blues who feared that he was leaving.
At one point, there was in particular an anti-Madueke petition which circulated online, but Arteta spoke to the player and was seduced by his reaction and his courage …

“Lots of courage, that’s how I would describe it,” said Arteta at his press conference after today’s victory against Nottingham Forest.
“We are about to sign it and I see that there was a lot of reaction around him.
“I spoke to him and he was like” I’m going, I can’t wait to put this shirt and play for you “.
“I said Wow, Amettons, if I was convinced before being even more convinced now that he will do it.”
Noni Madueke turning into an inspired signature for Arsenal
Madueke seems to have taken his game at Arsenal and it is quite the compliment for him that they barely missed Bukayo Saka when he was injured.
Few people would have expected that Arsenal behaves so well without Saka, but Madueke was really impressive, and his performance also followed a strong display for the national team of England during the international break.
Credit to the 23 -year -old man for having shown such a character when some players would surely have been worried about the negative reaction they were going to get fans of their new club.
