Arnold Schwarzenegger said to environmentalists to stop whining and getting to work ”during the presidency of Trump

Arnold Schwarzenegger shared blunt advice on Tuesday for environmentalists who are concerned about the Trump’s chainsaw approach in environmental sanctions and climatic initiatives.

Speaking at the Austrian World Summit in Vienna, an annual and international climate conference he launched, the former California Republican Governor revealed that he was constantly requested by environmentalists and climate change experts what the interest of fighting for the environment at a time when the American government “says that climate change is a hoax and coal and oil is the future.”

According to Schwarzenegger, he always says to these experts and activists, “stop whining and put yourself at work”.

Distant that 70% of pollution can be reduced by local initiatives and at the state level, he called on environmentalists to try to change, of business and government.

“Be the mayor who makes the buses electric; be the CEO which puts an end to the dependence on fossil fuels; be the school that puts (in place) solar roofs,” said the movie star, the politician and the bodybuilder. “You can’t just sit down and apologize because a guy in a very beautiful White House on Pennsylvania Avenue does not agree with you.”

While it was depending on 2003 to 2011, Schwarzenegger devoted a substantial part of his efforts as a civil servant to create and establish climatic initiatives in California. In the years that followed, he continued to focus on the assurance of a cleaner environmental future as spokesperson for environmentalists and through his initiative by Schwarzenegger Climate.

Since Trump resumed his duties in January, his administration, conversely, aggressive in the return of environmental regulations implemented during the presidency of Joe Biden, the funded financing of climate projects, proposed major reductions in environmental agencies and has pushed to increased emphasis on oil and gas production.

Despite his history of environmentalism and his public approval by Kamala Harris at the end of 2024, however, Schwarzenegger chose not to criticize President Trump directly during his appearance at the Austrian World Summit this year. He said that such a strategy was “not my style” and noted that he refuses to criticize an American president whenever he is outside the United States.

Instead of criticizing Trump, Schwarzenegger urged environmentalists to focus on the promulgation of a demonstrable and impactful change in the way they can. “I know that people are sick and tired of groans and complaints and misfortune and sadness,” he said. “The only way to win the heart and mind of the people is to show them an action that improves their lives.”
