Arizona Pastor accused of Medicaid fraud after submitting false complaints of a value of millions: Attorney General

An Arizona pastor was charged alongside 16 other people in a Medicaid fraud case, accused of having helped channel millions of state health funds through false rehabilitation and money laundering the product through his church, state officials announced.
A great jury charged 17 people and two organizations, including Hope of Life International Church and its pastor, Theodore Mucuranyana. The authorities alleged that from August 2022 to July 2023, the co-accused Rusingizwa and Fabrice Mvuyekure used their business, Happy House Behavioral Health, to submit more than $ 60 million in fraudulent clashes of Medicaid, according to AZ Central.
Prosecutors allege that the company billed services to deceased, incarcerated or hospitalized patients – and sent more than $ 5 million to the church while the investigation was.
Most accused were to be brought to justice between May 20 and May 27. Mucuranyana and the Church face accusations of money laundering, while Happy House has been suspended from the health care containment system in Arizona. Assets, including luxury products and properties, are now subject to the crisis as part of current surveys.
The pastor’s lawyer told 12 news that he knew “nothing” on alleged fraud.
Since the prosecutor General Kris Mayes took office at the beginning of 2023, more than 100 people in 14 cases were charged as accusations to exploit the system, due to invoicing for non -existent alcohol and drug rehabilitation services,
Officials say that more accusations could follow as investigations continue in the way the abusive use of public funds may be.
