Ares, The Running Man, and more released

We may have finished with superhero films for another year, but there are still fascinating science fiction and fantasy films that run us in 2025, and Times shared more than 20 new images as part of an autumn overview.

This last look at Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey Followed by Dek projectors, a young Yautja who will be presented as the first predatory protagonist of the franchise. Dek will team up with Thea, a synth of Weyland-Yutani played by Elle Fanning, while they cross an inhospitable planet with a danger that is hidden on every street corner.

Trachtenberg previously described Dek as the “Runt of the Liver”, adding, “This is a thing of a few words, quite frank. He cuts straight to the point. Literally and figuratively.”

The filmmaker also addressed the decision to return the scenario somewhat by making one of the deadly extraterrestrial hunters one of the heroes of the film.
