Dallas, August 18, 2025 (Globe Newswire) – Applied digital corporation (Nasdaq: APLD) announced today that it planned to break through in September 2025 on Polaris Forge 2, a factory of $ 3 billion and 280 megawatt (MW) near Harwood, Dakota from the North. Designed with the ability to extend beyond its initial 280 MW, the campus – with an initial capacity in 2026 and reaching full capacity at the beginning of 2027 – more advanced from the rapid growth of digital and strengthens the position of North Dakota as one of the most important destinations for AI infrastructure in the United States.

The new project occurs while AI’s computer capacity demand continues to rise, with hyperscalers, businesses and research organizations looking for scalable and high performance infrastructure. Polaris Forge 2 is based on the success of the Ellendale Polaris Forge 1 campus of Digital Applied, expanding the presence of the company in a state that offers abundant energy, available land and a pro-business climate.

“We believe that Polaris Forge 2 represents the next step in the rapid growth of Digital Applied and our position as a leader in the supply of high performance AI infrastructure,” said Cummins, CEO of Applied Digital. “The demand for the capacity of AI continues to accelerate, and the Dakota of the North continues to be one of the most strategic places in the country to respond to our customers and the communities that we serve. “”

“Northern Dakota wins when companies like Digital Applied choose to be more than an employer. In Ellendale, they have invested in people through labor housing and have created solid local partnerships that strengthen the community, “said Governor Kelly Armstrong. “We are delighted that they are committed to extending their presence in northern Dakota with a Harwood location, continuing the tendency of being a positive citizen and helping to develop our rural communities while contributing to our strong economy.”

The proposed development initially includes two installations with a future expansion capacity. Applied Digital contracted more than 900 acres for campus and obtained power through Cass County Electric Cooperative. Once fully operational, the site should use more than 200 full -time employees, in addition to long -term entrepreneurs.

Cass County Electric Cooperative is a non -profit electrical cooperative for electric service counties belonging to members through northern Dakota:

“We are delighted to have the possibility of providing the application of digital with the power they need to stimulate innovation and technology in a way that benefits our communities and inheritance members. While we work through the final stages of an agreement, we will continue to keep our cooperative values in the soul while preparing the needs of future generations, “said Paul Matthys, Cass County Electric Cooperative Cooperative President and CEO.

Minnkota Power Cooperative undertakes to provide safe, reliable, affordable and environmental electricity through northern Dakota:

“We are proud to work with Applied Digital to help bring a cutting -edge data center to our region. This project represents an important opportunity to stimulate technological progress and create sustainable advantages for our cooperative membership, “said Mac McLennan, president and chief executive officer of Minnkota Power Cooperative. “While we work towards a final agreement, we focus on ensuring that it is integrated in a way that strengthens our communities, supports the reliable and responsible power and is based on the solid bases that we have established during more than 85 years of service in this region.”

Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation (GFMEDC) works to cultivate an economic environment where all people and organizations thrive:

“The Greater Fargo Moorhead Edc is enthusiastic about the opportunity to support this preliminary dynamic project for our region,” said Joe Raso, president and chief executive officer of GFMEDC. “Having worked with Applied Digital on various aspects of this project, including a recent visit to its Ellendale data center, ND, currently under construction, we can see the substantial economic advantage that this project will have for the Fargo region.

With many energy resources, including renewable and available land and an increasing basis of technical talents, we believe that northern Dakota quickly becomes a favorite destination for AI infrastructure. Polaris Forge 2 should advance Digital’s applied mission to build a sustainable and high performance digital infrastructure that feeds innovation and offers sustainable economic and community advantages.

“The investment applied to Ellendale is a model of rural innovation – offering high -tech infrastructure, labor housing and long -term economic opportunities for Northern Dakota,” said Commerce Commissioner, Chris Schilken. “Their extension in Harwood is based on this success and is exactly the type of strategic partnership and investment that strengthens our communities and positions our state for the future.”

“This revolution marks the beginning of a project that will put Harwood on the map as a key director in the future of the infrastructure of AI. The investment of Digital Applied reflects confidence in our people and our potential, and we are proud to be part of this moment,” said Blake Hankey, mayor of Harwood.
