Anthony Weiner predicts that Zohran Mamdani will obtain democratic mentions in the New York town hall race

The former member of the Congress in disgrace Anthony Weiner makes a daring prediction on the race of the New York town hall: he says that the best democrats will inevitably approve the left candidate Zohran Mamdani.
Speaking on Sunday on the Wabc 770 AM “round table”, Weiner said that the minority chief of the Senate Chuck Schumer and the minority head of the Hakeem Jeffries room would have no choice but to support Mamdani, the official candidate of the party.
“In the end, people like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, they will have to approve the candidate of their party,” said Weiner. He said that if some moderate Democrats can stay on the sidelines due to disagreements with Mamdani’s progressive positions, party leadership cannot avoid the spotlight. Weiner said that Schumer and Jeffries were careful by issuing mentions, aimed at protecting moderate candidates before mid-term of 2026. “They do not want to harm their moderate candidates throughout the country, which they need to take up the Chamber and the Senate,” he said.
Despite this act of political balancing, Weiner suggested that the result is inevitable. “Unfortunately, or fortunately … I think we are going to have Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York,” he said, predicting the Democratic candidate will ultimately obtain the support of the party and victory in the general elections.
