Andy Robertson makes the emotional admission of the Liverpool contract before an uncertain summer

Liverpool’s left back, Andy Robertson, insisted that he was always good enough to play for the club while he was performing to fight for his Anfield future.
The Scottish international endured a mixed season under the new manager Arne Slot, whose tactics have offered Robertson less opportunities to bend offensive prowess seen regularly under the former boss Jurgen Klopp.
With a handful of poor performance, only raising pressure on Robertson, which argued that a “scapegoat” was made, Liverpool should be on the market for a new left back this summer and was designed to spend strongly for Milos Kerke in Bournemouth, evaluated at more than 40 million pounds Sterling.
A provocative from Robertson has already expressed the desire to prove that his skeptics are wrong and, speaking during a charity lunch alongside Jamie Carragher, he clearly indicated that he had no desire to move away from Anfield this summer.
“I only have one year left [on my contract,” Robertson said. “So I hope all you [fans] can help me make the same noise around a new contract as you did with Mo [Salah] and Virgil [van Dijk]! Maybe you [Carragher] Can also stop binding the club with the other left rear!
“No look, I have had eight wonderful years so far and I have a year left. I am not as young as I was in the past, but I love this club and I had good memories here, so let’s see what the future has in store for us.
“I always believe that I can always produce good performances and very good performance and I think I have done it this season, so I always think that I can produce at the highest level and if I can do it, that’s where I belong and I hope I can stay here for many years to come.”
Robertson acknowledged that Liverpool is in a “new era” under the slot machine, the two rear places likely to be the strongest proof of this.
While Robertson faces a battle to avoid being replaced, Liverpool is prepared for the departure of the right rear Trent Alexander-Arnold, which should make a free transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
The signing of a replacement for Alexander-Arnold is not considered a priority, however, Conor Bradley should intensify the team’s starter while Liverpool concentrates their efforts on strengthening in other positions, including the rear left.
