Having defeated a giant prehistoric shark twice now, I think it is right to say that there is nothing that can stop Jason Statham. There is certainly nothing that can prevent him from making films, anyway, because the action mastero always pumps high adrenaline actuators with impressive regularity. As such, several of his best films are often lost in the Constant Expansion Statham catalog. But “The Mechanic” of 2011 is fighting in the conscience of the public, translating in the Paramount + Top 10 and reminding us of all that all the films of Statham must not be as generic as his recent “John Wick” Knockoff “a man who works”.
One of Jason Statham’s best films, “The Mechanic” is actually a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film of the same name and sees his star in the role of Arthur Bishop, an assassin with a particular talent to make his victims look like his victims. He then deceived his mentor, Harry (the late Donald Sutherland), who, as you can expect, do not devastate Bishop much. The hitman promises a revenge and brings Harry’s son, Steve McKenna (Ben Foster), for the ride, teaching him the ways of a hitman and, you know, hitting the guys really good. Together, the duo decided to avenge Harry, but when Steve discovers that it was bishop who killed his father, things reach a boiling point.
Directed by Simon West, “The Mechanic” did a decent job to redo one of the best films in Bronson, even if it was never going to surpass the original. It also went well at the box office, which makes $ 76 million against a budget of $ 40 million. In addition, it seems to have a lasting attraction, because the Paramount + subscribers now seriously broadcast the film.

“The Mechanic” can be released almost 15 years ago, but according to Flixpatrol, a site that follows and aggregates the figures for the streaming audience program, paramount + users cannot have enough of this off -competition status thriller.
The film struck the streaming platform on September 1, 2025 and turned out to be popular with subscribers since. Flixpatrol shows that the film has been going in the charts for a week at the time of the editorial staff. Initially struck number 9 on September 12, 2025, “The Mechanic” then jumped in fourth place the next day. Since then, he has hovered around places number four / five, and although she has not yet claimed the number one, this suggests that there is a regular request for the Actuator of Statham which shows no sign of relaxation. At the time of writing, the film even fell into position number four, it may well be able to advance in the coming days.
He can only have 54% rotten score, but “the mechanic” remains one of the best in statham. As such, its streaming resurrection is a good excuse to give it a revision – although you should probably ignore the suite of 2016, “Mechanic: Resurrection”, which was described as a “favored afterwards” by The Guardian and is probably one of Statham’s greatest regrets
