The US military has sent destroyers and thousands of navies to Venezuela while President Donald Trump doubles fatal drug cartels, according to information.
At least three destroyers of guided missiles Aegis – USS Gravely and USS Jason Dunham among them – are part of the mission, two American officials anonymously said on Tuesday at the Associated Press.
Another official told Reuters that the deployment, which could soon happen, implies around 4,000 navies and soldiers “in several months”, supported by spy planes, warships and a submarine so that international waters and sky are covered.
Tuesday’s massive operation marks a spectacular escalation in Trump’s thrust to block fentanyl and drug pipelines fueling the American overdose crisis.

He also intervenes while the administration called the Venezuela regime a “narco-terrorist cartel” and demanded that President Nicolás Maduro be held responsible.
Asked about this latest distribution of military ships, the press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said on Tuesday that the president “had been very clear and coherent” to use “each element of American power to prevent drugs from flooding in our country and translating legal officials”.
During a White House press briefing, she added: “The Maduro regime is not the legitimate government of Venezuela. It is a narco-terrorist cartel. Maduro is a fugitive chief of this cartel who was charged in the United States for drug trafficking in the country.”
